FOREMAN - PIPE
Summary of the Position:
Position directs and manages all on site construction workers and equipment, while maintaining company policies, procedures and safety standards. Responsible for meeting construction deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead and direct people, equipment, and resources, organize and coordinate the daily activities in the construction and laying of underground pipe and utilities.
· Ensure sufficient deployment and productivity of work crews.
· Communicates with the Superintendent and reports any issues which could affect the project plan.
· Reads and interprets drawings to ensure proper placement of underground infrastructure.
· Use survey equipment to ensure proper grading.
· Reviews and adhere to construction schedules and completion dates are met.
· Operate heavy equipment as required.
· Must have a safety-first attitude.
· Must have valid Fl Driver’s License
Education and/or Experience:
High school or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the position. Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience within the underground utilities construction industry, with 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of underground utility construction methods, construction materials and industry requirements. Knowledge of heavy equipment. Skills in heavy equipment operation, thoroughness and time management. Communication, organizational, interpersonal and supervisory skills. Abilities in multi-task and set priorities effectively. Ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines. Compliance with prescribed operating or safety standards.
Working Conditions:
Overtime/Nights/Saturdays and travel may be required.
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include weather, heat and humidity and exposure to dust and asphalt. Must be physically able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Use of Personal Protection Safety Equipment is required.
